Bizet.Life

It all started when…we realised this lifestyle of ours is not sustainable. Constantly consuming. To create a Bio Economic Ten Tourism life or BIZET.LIFE for short.

So, how do we keep in fashion, raise brand awareness but create a brand that works for the world we live in.

Our products are made mostly with Eco Friendly materials and in ways that are sustainable.

Often our items are organically grown. The raw materials are shipped using a slow free space policy. Maximising the locality of production with the practicality or raw source material. We have not found it an easy task.

All items we produce and print on are in sustainable printing locations, we have partnered with Losev.Tech to make Solar, Water managed and low carbon footprint locations. We use local post services, supporting local jobs and managing the printing of products in a way that is raising awareness to our brand but securing work for the local regions we sell to.

Any items returned to us in eco friendly packaging is recycled and more importantly we print to order clothing.

This means our brand is put on items that are not over produced, made to order per customer. They are made in local regions and designed in a sustainable Bizet.Life HQ. Our Lifestyle items are fully sustainable, often made in the villages surrounding our head quarters by local craftsmen. Some items we produce are stocked in each country and because they are locally sourced, produced and we sell only in region we work with any longhaul requirements using slow freight taking options on free space in an existing shipment. That carbon is then offset by us planting in our forests at Bizet.Life HQ. Our vehicles are all electric, charged from Solar installations at our HQ.

Improving the impact we have on the environment is a key focus for us going into 2019. We already had some Carbon neutral measures in place but we’re always open to ideas or suggestions on how we can do better.

Our DTG printers use ink that’s OEKO-TEX certified, which means they contain no chemicals which negatively impact or harm the environment. The inks are water-based and because we use DTG there is less waste than other garment printing methods. From November 2018 we also donate and garments that don’t pass quality control to local charity, which as well as helping our local community reduces the amount of waste we dispose of. Should an item not be the right size for a customer we offer them 5% off as a discount but we then try to wash and recycle that item back into stock if returned. Promoting customers to think carefully before they order.

Our mailing bags are made from 100% recycled materials. We have reduced our plastic consumption over the last 6 months and have also committed in 2019 to further reduce the amount of plastic we use in our packaging and overall in our lives. The use of bubble-wrap/garment bags are necessary for us to prevent in transit damages, and ensure the product reaches our customers in the condition we expect. However, we are continuously looking at improving this further with more environmentally friendly solutions. So, we have recently found a new Eco friendly solution to replace this packaging.

We offer a range of organic garments they have been GOTS (Global Organic Standard) certified since 2007 this is an EP range (Earth Positive range) which is made from 100% organic Indian cotton and FS range (Fair Share) which has been running since 2016 and aim is to provide a living wage to the workers in its factory in India; a percentage of the garment price is allocated to go directly to these workers in their monthly wages. More importantly we slow ship these items in free space and if we cant ship we pay storage to the locations we store in.

The excess waste we do have in cardboard and paper is recycled; we try to ask customers to return packaging or recycle and we reduce the amount we see as avoidable waste being returned to us.

Our social responsibility is also important to us; and as of November 2019 we have committed to donate any clothing that isn’t suitable to be shipped out to customers to be donated to charities within our local community. This reduces waste but also makes a difference in our local area and helps those who need it most. We also have agreed to employ local people for local work on our brands.

As mentioned before, it is a key focus of ours to improve our carbon footprint and environmental impact over the next year, by planting trees in our own forests and we’re always open to new ideas so feel free to get in touch with one of the team if you have some we would welcome more information.
